Midvale Townhouses

Inspired by an industrial meets Scandinavian aesthetic, this project features two buildings with six units each. The buildings are mirrored across a shared property line, creating a pedestrian corridor running between the two. This allows for unit entries to be concentrated at the center and individual outdoor spaces to be placed at the opposite sides.

There is minimal glazing between the buildings along the shared property line, taking into consideration privacy, with larger glazing moments at the opposite ends of the buildings where the living spaces are oriented.  Each unit is bisected by the stairs, forming space on each end. The modulation created by the center stair allows for landscaping opportunities and increased outdoor space.
